I can't beat around the bush, I'm resigning from dA, moving on, escaping my Internet addiction one site at a time; but I have soo much to thank you lot for!

:iconinvadermar: =InvaderMar I think we understand each other, and I don't need to say anything that I haven't already said. I will likely post Pac Mar here once complete, and the work will continue even if I'm not here at dA. Please, please, stay in touch. Even mail me once in a while if you're short on time.

:iconstaceyw: ~StaceyW I hope your art career flourishes, because it deserves to.

:iconjunoluver: =junoluver You've been an artistic inspiration for a long time, sorry I fell short. Best wishes to you in your career.

:iconelectricnet: `electricnet Keep in touch. You're smart, you apply yourself creatively and professionally, in such a way that I aspire to. You helped teach me that ~CodeIsArt

:iconkeiross: ¢keiross You show me a great deal of respect, thank you. Please stay in touch.

All of my favourites, I have selected carefully. I do not fav-bomb, or fav too much.

To me, my favourites are art that I cherish.
Art that I simply cannot live without.

Thank you to those people who have lit up my life with their art. Here are some select choices:

Any reputation I have left, lends it honour to these people for gifts & commissions:

And these honourable gentlemen & women for subs:

:iconkeiross: :iconshadowspark: :iconinvadermar: :iconlawzy87:
and anybody else forgotten, please let me know.

*shadowspark I still owe you something, please contact me

Thank you the deviantART staff, administrators, °jark, the policy enforcement team, and everybody that works together to make dA such a great place.

Thank you, you people who stuck with me when problems arose, thank you kind people I met only once.

Also,

I've done two weeks of almost non stop work on Pac Mar. There's new shiny graphics (compare with [link] ), power ups (by getting the random pie), and tons of bug fixes and overall improvements.

However, the real visible stuff for completion is yet to be done, namely levels, lots of them.

I'm looking for beta testers and people to create levels with the level editor.

BTW, anybody remember Centurions?

POWER EXTREME! :D

Hi all,
If you've not yet played my game (in honour of =InvaderMar) then you're seriously missing out:

But the news is that after some hiatus, I'm working on Pac Mar again and hope that I can make some progress this time in finishing it; but that's on the condition that I can get your support!

 If you want to help, give your ideas about
how to improve the game, share your levels,
and anything else Pac Mar related,
you can now do so at the Pac Mar forum!
:star:

Definitely do consider joining the group (it only takes a minute) and posting your thoughts on the game, what you'd like to see improved, and sharing the levels you made! :)

You help is absolutely needed to get the game finished!

If you're a Visual Basic 6 programmer, you can now get the Pac Mar source code and start learning how the game was made and making improvements yourself! Source is available at the Google Code site [link]

Are you an RSS Junkie?
Here's what I keep on my blog roll, and why:

C O M I C S

It flips often between being jokey and being a story about the Apple obsessed artist. It's excellently presented, and also check out the "AppleGeeks Lite" traditional style spin-off comic.

Another gaming web comic.

Notable strips: And Now You Know..., Mario Party and the Holy Grail, Wii and My Shadow, Hello, I'm Linux, What's Love Got To Do With It?

Mildly amusing gaming web comic that I follow for the excellent ExtraLife Radio Podcast

PBF personifies the loss of hope. A kid's fairy tale meets harsh reality. The simplicity and elegance of the dark jokes in PBF are superbly presented in varying art styles.

Notable strips: Box of Hate, Magic Eyes, Sun Love

A relatively new addition to my comic list, it plays a lot like XKCD, involving stick men and complete geekary, but more Mac centric.

Notable strips: "Edit Menu", "Drama"

Popular gaming related web comic, with a strong set of versatile characters.

Notable strips: Rare Candy, Results May Vary, He's Our Hero

It's hard to imagine gaming web comics without realising Penny Arcade as one of the cornerstones of the genre. The writing is always impeccable, and the humour spot on.

Notable strips: At The Corner Of Bait And Switch, The Dangers Of Exposure, Joy, Joy And Unrelenting, And Here's Gabe With The Weather

Possibly the best geek comic there is.

Notable strips: GOTO, IN UR REALITY, Chess Photo, Open Source, Brain, YouTube, Not Really Into Pokemon

More to come...

Why I left my favourite community:

I suspect that not many of the people who choose to watch me here on deviantART are readers of the tech news site OSNews. I think DeviantART and OSNews are two very different things and I suspect most people on DeviantART watch me for artwork rather than my news commentary.

However, it has to be said that for the last few years, OSNews has been home to me, both as my home page, and the website that I most felt at home in. The website has that intangible "homely" feel to it, in the way it operates, in the choices of articles and even the trolls are all unique to the website. It is, how I see it, quite a nice website and community.

The numbers say I rank pretty highly in the user base, and I suspect that a lot of people are aware of my presence there. That has never affected how I conduct myself on the website, thankfully OSNews doesn't suffer PVs-syndrome like dA can sometimes. I've even received a great amount of praise from readers over my contributions.

So yesterday I decided to leave OSNews and disable my account.

The site's admin asked me if it was because of trolls, or another user's conduct - and the answer to that is no. (Although I'm flattered that he would be concerned about my welfare on the site).

Simply put, you can't have too much of a good thing. And in the case of the Internet, it's very easy to have too much of a good thing. I've found that my whole life has been spent online for the last 6/7 years. Almost every day I've been online, and I was always whittling away the hours working on some project or other. And whilst I felt productive for a while, that no longer persists.

I have come to the point where I am inhibited by an obsessive compulsive behaviour to be constantly checking the sites I frequent for updates. Refreshing a page even when I know it hasn't changed. I end up wasting an unholy amount of time being lodged in debates here and there.

What I want, is to be a better person. I would be the first to say that online I am sarky, quick to comment and very opinionated. This isn't true of my behaviour IRL, and whilst I'm successful on OSNews, it's come to the point that I realise that I can gain more than I could lose by moving on and dealing with the important matters in real life.

The same may eventually come of DeviantART.
